Setup the Touch Smart Haptic Device

Before using the 3D Systems Haptic Devices, they must be paired with the ‘Touch Smart Setup’ Software. The app downloads automatically on your laptop as part of the Fundamental Surgery installer. To setup the haptic arms follow the below steps.

  1. Locate and double click the 'Touch Smart Setup' app on the desktop
  2. Before choosing the devices from the left panel, the user needs to confirm the number of haptic devices used under 'Configuration Mode' in the center of the screen.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions, select your left hand device first. The associated serial number on screen can be found underneath each physical device.
  4. Now confirm calibration by selecting ‘Save Configuration’.
  5. Should you encounter any issues, disconnect/reconnect wires and select ‘rescan’ in the application. A full system restart may also help.
